I bought a 89 IROC convertable and the transmission died. Because it is my third car and I dont need it as my daily driver I decided to pull the engine and trans at the same time and fix all the little leaks. I am having the transmission rebuilt with some high performance parts, but I am running out of money. is it worth redoing the heads without rebuilding the engine, should I just replace the oil pump and water pump and call it good, or is there somthing I am missing.

 

does ir run fine? is it a 305 or 350? if your gonna have the heads worked over then you should put a cam in as well.
