Max lift on stock 305 heads?

Max lift on stock 305 heads?
I need to the max lift cam you can put into 305 with stock heads and springs.

87 Z28 305 TPI, Auto, LT-1 cam (@.50 418/430, 194/199, LSA 111), roller timing set, 2.73, Gutted air boxes, K & N fillters, Dyno Max 3" cat back, 8.8 mm spirals, air foil, and 170* Stat.
Old Best 15.414 @ 87.47.
new best 15.006 @ 89.55.

.480" is about as far as you can safely go. Even then, stock springs are such garbage (especially old worn-out ones), the car will run a whole lot better with new ones. They make a really big difference sometimes at higher RPMs.

With the cam I have (@.50 418/430, 194/199, LSA 111), if I get 1.6 ratio roller rockers will I make it under the maker? O'buy the way new springs also.
you'll be under .460 with the 1.6 rockers, but i'd still replace the springs and retainers.

I had a feeling you might be looking into the 1.6:1 rockers eventually. They will work with your cam, heads, and the LT4 springs. Do yourself a favor, and get the roller tipped rockers at least. Comp has a nice set of 1.6:1 rollers for self-aligning applications (P/N 1418-16) for about $195. You might want to check with Summit Racing before Friday, when the TGO Members' 10% discount expires.
