Choosing a cam for my Vortec 355

Hey guys, time to go cam shopping again since I trashed a pair of comp cams. I'm looking to purchase another brand of cam for my vortec 355. I'm hoping to push it into the low 13s with a new rollar hyd. I'm looking at something around 500 lift and 230 dur?

Crane has the HR 276 2S (.488/.509 214/222)
which im leaning towards,

Anyone else using a non comp cam in their vortec setups? I'd love to see what others are running and what times they are getting.

Thanks

Used a lowly Woverine blue racer (Crane) in my vortec motor. very simular to yours.
It ran 13.40's @104.5 with a stock 700r4 and 2200stall
later ran 13.00's @103.5 with a th350and 3500stall

high vacuum, good idle easy on valvetrain parts and fuel.
You can find the specs here

Worked very nicely.
If you want a hyd flat tappet cam thats easy to live with this one is a good one.

I guess a big question is: does the cam have to fit under the factory spring heights? Because i plan on using a Lunati Bracket Master II cam (p/n 00010) with a set of Vortecs that are modified for lift.

GM HOT cam and kit. I get 25+mpg with my 86 and it will run 13's easy. Great idle and runs real good.

I believe the specs on the HOT cam are .525 lift on int and exh-duration @ .050 is 218 int 228 exh-do not remember what the lobe centers are right off the top of my head. These specs are with 1.6 rockers. One of the magazines did a dyno test (if you can believe them) with vortec heads and the HOT cam kit and came up with 407 hp and 427 ft. lb.-not too shabby for a 9.5:1 350. Not sure what the pricing on the kit is right now but should be around $500 including the roller rockers. This is the same cam that comes in the ZZ430 Here is a link to SDPC2000 website-$499.95 complete. http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...d=993&pid=1900

Thanks guys, I have springs on my heads that will support up to .550 lift and I've already got 1.6 rockers so a cam in the .490 range is about my limit.

How much are those GM HOT cams worth?
are you sure .525 is it's lift with 1.6 rockers?
if so that looks like a good cam

I also found a lunati rollar that looks attractive

.478/.480 with 227/234 duration
with 1.6's that would put me at just over .510 lift which is still safe

Yes, .525 is the lift with 1.6 ratio rockers.

I happen to have an extra HOT cam that has never been run-$150 shipped to your door. My buddy was going to buy it but he backed out.
