Just replace connectors or also fusible links for the starter solenoid?

My starter solenoid (new) apparently is getting a bad connection somewhere. The car started once after I installed the solenoid, but hasn't since. All fuses are good. I'm going to replaced the connectors since they don't look too good. Two questions though: 1. should I also replace the fusible links?, and 2. how would I replace the fusible links? The wiring is already tough to reach w/o a soldering gun - what's the best way to get to this stuff? Can I pull the whole harness somehow? Any advice is very much appreciated.

You can take all the wires loose from the starter and pull them up through the little metal tube, and work on them from above. Much easier that way. Pull a string or something through the tube with the wires as you pull them out to help pull them back in after you're through, they're easier to pull into the tube than to push in I can assure you.
