Sock Oil Pump or High Volume Pump
Well I am building up a 350 down the road and I will most likely be using the ZZ4 with some nice aftermarket TPI components on top.
Anyway I asked the Summit tech and he said to use the stock pickup and pump, that the high volume weren't nessesary if I don't race and keep it at high RPM's. So I ordered the stock setup, but now I'm not sure I did the right thing. What do you guys think? This will be a street car and sometimes will see the track but not often.

The stocker is a better idea. As long as the bearing clearences are correct...
A HV pump will waste power and wear out your distributer gear very quickly.
I run a high volume/pressure pump because I run 0w-30 synthetic to try to gain more hp. Running light oils will drop pressure when it gets hot, but I still must deal with quickly wearing distibuter gears.
A stock pump is the way to go on the street though, as in the winter (here anyway) the cold climates overly boost oil pressure at high rpm's when the motor is cold.

you'll be way ahead to use a melling m55 pump with a mr gasket #26 spring. weld the pick up to the pump cover or weld a brace to the pick up and bolt it to the pump.

Another vote for the Summit guy's advice...
I use the same recipe as ede for my pumps.

Thats good to hear, The Summit guy must think like you guys because that is exactly what I got the Melling M55 and the stock pickup designed for the 6 quart Moroso pan.
Thanks for the reassurance
