CTS? which one does what
okay so i heard theres different kinds of CTS? , which one does what,, theres one on my driver side under cylinder 2, theres also one under my plenum and i was told theres another one?

Okay,
The one on the drivers side is the Coolant Temperature Sending unit that goes to the temp gauge on the instrument panel. The one under the plenum chamber is the Intake Air Temp Sensor (IAT). It is also known on earlier models as the Manifold Air Temp Sensor (MAT). The third one you are talking about is the Coolant Temperature Sensor located in the front of the intake manifold just below the throttle body. It sends signals to the ECM.

Measure the voltage on the signal wire. It should read between .5 and 4.5 v with the key on. The actuall reading will depend on the temp of the engine. You can also measure the resistance of the sensor at certain temps.
