Getting harder to start?

I am having problems starting my ’91 Formula 350. In the last two days the car has become increasingly harder to start. It will barely start now. It sounds like it is not getting the fuel it needs. After maybe 7 seconds of cranking it begins to start, but stutters for a couple seconds and then starts. Normally when the car starts, as soon as if fires the RPMs climb to about 2000 then it goes to idle. Now the RPMs don’t climb at all. In fact when the engine first fires, it takes a couple seconds for the RPMs to get to idle. I am thinking something in the fuel system: filter or fuel pump. Anybody have any other suggestion on what to check? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Most likely its not the fuel pump they only tend to act up after a few minuts of work. Its most likely a cloged fuel filter. Change the fuel filter and if that doesnt help check your spark plugs. But most likely its the filter. SSC
