Question about piston
Ok, so I am replacing my first head gasket ....ever. Got the head off last night, and figured it was a good stopping point, so I did. Went out today and noticed some ... "rings" I guess on the #7piston, very similar to the ones in this post ...

but not as deep. Other than that, the other 3 pistons look fine, a little black and brown in spots, but the cylinder walls look good. Is this something to worry about? What do I do about it? Thanks for the help guys.

looks like something got sucked into the cylinder and the piston hit it. i wouldn't worry to much about it. clean it up and put it back together. if you're need a little extra peace of mind you can PT, (dye penetrant) test the piston for cracks.
