Which cam should I get? How much should I port these heads?
This is for the Z28 with the mods listed below. I'm going to install either comp cams 268XE or 274XE. They spec at 224/230 .477/.480 and 230/236 .487/.490. I have center bolt TPI heads that I'm going to have ported. I plan to have them milled to 10.0:1 compression, polish the chambers, and port work.
Keep in mind this car is geared for horsepower, 1st gear goes really quick and the engine does not go below 4000rpm after shifts. Just as long as I don't loose much
torque I'll be happy.
The questions are: Which cam should I use and how much port work should I have done? Cost is not an issue as I'm getting them done for free.
