How do I know if the fusible link on the starter is blown? Will it have smoked when it blew? Is it possible for the link to still work but not very well? How do I go about replacing it?

I did blow the link on the starter, but I kinda just pushed it together, and got power back. But whenever I go above 2k rpm's, the tach starts to fluctuate, and the engine misses but the popping sound is real muffled and quiet. The radio will also cut out and turn back on. The alarm that goes off when you leave your lights on will now go off whenever the lights are on, even if the car is running. When I put the new link in, might it fix all those problems? Or are other things broken....

There should be three fusible links there at the starter solenoid. One of them goes to the fuse panel and ignition switch and the alternator.
