Gasoline question

Yo guys, what brand of gas do you all use? Which brands suck and should be avoided? I've heard bad things about Arco and Exxon.

Thanks.

I use the cheapo maverick gas at 87 octane on all the cars I have owned. it so far seems that msot all my cars run the same on just about any type of gas I get other then when I had my 71 camaro and had the timing bumped up a bit then I ran 91 octane

All gas comes from the same place, same pipeline, same same same. The only difference is the additives the specific companies add.

FWIW i normally don't use non-name brand gas.

ME Leigh hit it. Gasoline molecules are gasoline molecules. If they changed it per station, per company even, it would obviously no longer be gasoline.

It's the various additives that make the blend different.

I usually just end up going to whatever station I'm near at the moment when I need fuel. Usually a Shell, Speedway, BP or Marathon.

OK, so if gas is gas, which company has the best additive package. Which sucks?

You might just want to try the different brands in your area for each different fillup. I just think gasoline a personal choice that only you can decide.

That is a question which is strictly open for opinionated answers. I doubt you will get any constructive answers that will truly help you. Try a bunch and form your own opinions.

I am running Ethanol Plus in my Trans Am. Car seems to like it. For some reason 87 Octane causes my car to ping and run like crap. 89 octane and up seems ok.

FYI ethanol contains less energy then gasoline per volume. But it does have a higher octane rating and is highly subsidized.
