Car won't start - wiring issue??

Hi all,

Just finished swapping back in my tpi intake so I can sell my car(don't worry I bought another one)

Trying to start it and it turns over strong but never catches. I thought it was distributor so I pulled plug 1 and adjusted to TDC. Not the issue. Some funny things have occurred, first, my front markers and signal lights aren't working and it is not a fuse. Second, when I crank the car, the power door lock actuators open/close repeatedly.

Any ideas??

thanks

The lighting problem may be a ground, connection at the starter, or fusible link. The connector at the firewall for fusible link power distribution is always suspect.

The door lock operation is a mystery, but the solution to the lighting problem may also solve that gremlin.

Thanks Vader,

Where and what does this fusible link look like. It sounds like it might be the beast as I have an alarm in the car and when doors are locked or unlocked the markers should go on. Since I am having issues with both things, it could solve both problems.

thanks
Scott

The distributor seems to be the issue. When I took the plug out of #1 and bumped it until I felt compression and then tried to put it in, it just doesn't go in with the rotor pointed at #1. It will go in with it pointed to #6. Took valve cover off to confirm that it should be pointed at #1 and confirmed the issue. Any suggestions. I could just wire it with #1 where 6 should be and so but doesn't seem like best solution.

Wouldnt that mean its 180*out? Just flip the rotor. Im not sure, but that seems possible...

You will have to turn the Dist. 180*, or just plug the #1 plug wire where the rotor is pointing on the cap. Then follow the firing order around, IF your wires are long enough.

Oh yeah, the rotor will only go on one position.
