305 TBI engine, will the bottom hold

I want to put on a set of port and polished 305 TPI heads on my TBI engine. I was told that they flow better than my heads. Plus I want to get a new cam and a new TBI unit. Some Headers and 3.73 gears. The engine has 240,000km on it, and my question is, will the lower end of the engine hold?? My father tells me that I am running a high risk that Ill blow the bottom end out. But Ive heard that these engines can take a **** kicking and still run. So what does everybody think?? Will it hold, or will I be rebuild a whole new engine after it blows??

if you abuse it or beat on it there is more chance of breaking something. you have lot of miles on the engine so if it did break it sholdn't be a big suprise

K, I dont beat my car. I might get on it a little hard every now and again. Im not ready for a new motor (money and time), so am I running a higher risk of a blow up with doing those mod's??

Thanks

You have a very good chance of blowing the bottom out even if you don't step on it hard. The fact is you will have a very tight top end which will be good compression. The rings won't be able to hold up.
