code 34 help

this car is a sd car and has a map sensor its a 90
code 34- 34. Low voltage (high vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)

does that just mean the sensor is toast? or is something else wrong? My car is running nuts then switching into limp home mode so if i can just replace the sensor that would be great.

Get out your meter and a vacuum source or gauge. Your MAP should yield voltage results at a given vacuum similar to the table:

If your results aren't similar, the MAP may be damaged or failing. Make sure the TPS is working correctly, since the ECM gets much of its comparative data for a MAP reading via the TPS signal at any given RPM. If the TPS is off, the expected MAP voltage at a given RPM will be skewed by the TPS error.
