One month update:
So far, he's happy. Had over 500 miles on it within a week. The instructions that came with it said to adjust the valves, which for some reason he didn't do. Need to find out if he did that, last time I talked to him he hadn't yet.

seein how some people are pullin high 11's on the 305 make me wanna keep mine more and more. I've always been on the underdog side... Instead of dropping a 400 in my 79 im rebuilding my 301 with the 2bbl.... I know... how could i be so dumb... blah blah blah. I'm not looking for 400hp... just somethin to make it a little more fun.

I used to complain about my 305, foolishly thinking that it wasn't good enough for me. Boy was I wrong, it has plenty of horses to show a civic where it belongs. In the rearview mirror! I also can't complain about the burnouts, compliments of some 255\60R15 Goodyear Eagle GTII's. And one day when the Lord decides to take my 5.0 liter to 305 heaven, yea a new powerplant will rise and smite all those who oppose Rachael's raw power.

In the interest of full disclosure, I suppose I should let you know (on this thread - I've said it in another) that the whole thing has fallen through.
Our older brother, who lives a couple of hours from Omaha and helped in the engine change process, decided he needed a "project". Since I didn't have any stonger arguement based on need than he, the old engine is sitting in his garage now.
