Those w/Vortec heads on 305... good results or no??

I'm considering putting Vortec (350) heads on an LG4 305, as opposed to rebuilding the stockers or more expensive aftermarket heads.

For those who have done this, were you happy with the results? Any problems with the install (besides needing a new intake)?? And would you recommend doing this or would you do another approach if you had to do it over again?

Thanks for the info!

I put vortec 350 heads on my LG4, and with the new cam, that car was a whole other beast!
however I lost a lot of compression changing to a higher chamber head, because i did nothing to heads when i put them on, i was planning a 350 swap and using the same topend.

the head swap itself for my carbed engine was as simple as any, you will need headers or the vortec exhaust manifolds though, and if your gonna change heads, you might as well get a cam taht will compliment those heads, or you might not see much improvement at all.
a new cam also means new lifters, you will need different self aligning rocker arms if the heads don't come with.
