Quick Question

Alright guys as most of you know i just got done swapping in a mild carbed 350 into my camaro and have had a few difficulties. Well I have noticed that the temp. is getting a little higher than in did in my old 350 tbi. So I started looking over the cooling system with a friend of mine( he has owned many 3rd gens so I thought he would be of some help). And he said that I dont need the hose that comes off the intake manifold and runs back to the radiator(not the main upper rad hose). I thought that it was some type of return hose and that it was needed so I kept it, but he tells me that its only for the heater and I dont need it now that i dont have one, and its only pumping hot coolant back into my radiator therefore increasing my temp a little. So what do You guys think of this. And just FYI I have a performer RPM intake and I just have the hose running straight to the radiator not to the firewall or anything else. Thanks for your help.

If it's not going through the heater core, you don't need it.

Cool, thanks. But do you think that since I do have it that it may be making the temp go up or would there not be a difference?

There is probably some effect. Hard to say how much, though.

Block it off and see how it does.
