Scared to spin
What's up? My '89 camaro RS (Rachael) has some kind of a problem. I know that revving the engine and popping the clutch then immediately holding the brake isn't really the best thing for an engine. Especially an old stock one like mine, but anytime I wind first gear for a really long time (Like when power-braking for instance), oil starts shooting out of the dipstick tube. I thought I just had too much oil in it but I drained the oil pan and made sure I put the right amount in. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I can't wait to roast my tires again.

Could be a bad PCV valve or worst case worn piston rings, neither one having anything to do with roasting the tires. If it does it then, it probably does it anytime you get on it and you dont notice it.

Is power-braking gonna blow my engine? That's really what I'm scared of. I wish I knew more about cars than I do. Luckily, that's what I'm going to Tech school for. Anyway, thanks for the input, and if you or anyone else for that matter have any ideas please let me know. I am but a lowley pizza boy, therefore I haven't got much money. But I will do whatever it takes to get my car like she should be, fast and beautiful.

Oh yeah, how do I get a picture underneath my screenname? I've been wanting to do that for a while, I just haven't figured out how. Thanks.

Power braking wont hurt the engine as much as the clutch, tranny, rear and rear suspension. In "profile" look for section about avatars thats where you get the pictures.

Your building up too much pressure in the engine, thats why the dipstick tube is poping out.
You should check to make sure the breather filter is clean inside the stock airlid/box or if you replaced the factory breather make sure the new one-s are open on the bottem. The chrome breathers come closed or the baffle on the bottem is only slightly open, simple screw driver fix.
