blue smoke
blue smoke
first, thanx to those that replied to the previous q. Anyway, my '89 formula is starting to puff out small amounts of blue smoke. I got the car cheap and spent $$ improving it until now. I'm not burning off too much oil, if any because there is not a noticable change in the level. The car leaks no oil and doesn't lose anything in oil level, but i think somethings wrong w/the gasket. If anyone has a clue whats going on, and how to stop the smoke, please let me know, thank you.

Usually what happens is the valve seals dry up and oil gets past them into the combustion chamber(usually when car sits for long periods of time) Not unusual to GM's. Alot of people-including myself-just live w/it, costs a few bucks to replace them(labor intensive). So as long as you don't burn a ton of oil where it fouls things out you'll be ok. Every GM car I've had has done this eventually.
Good luck w/the car!!
