im going crazy
well i have a 305 tbi. and i dont like it. Now i was thinking about going to a carb. but thing i heard that the tpi system is a good one too. I think they make just about the same HP. and carb is easier. so what do you think carb or tpi? and i was wondering if some one knows a link to doing a tbi to carb swap? thanks

I say go carb. The TPI swap is much more costly and a bigger PITA. The swap is really easy I did the whole thing in less than a day. Heres the link, feel free to ask any questions.https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/carbswap.shtml

TBI -> carb will not be emissions legal. Is that a problem for you?

TPI makes really good low end torque but leaves a lot to be desired as far as hp is concerned. If you took 2 engines setup the same the one with the carb would make a lot more hp then the tpi one would. Tpi is also very limited as far as rpms are concerned where as a properly setup carb isn't. If your shooting for proformance carb is the obvious choice, tpi will most likely get better gas mileage though.
