week motor/ hwo do you drain fluid from trany..

i just bought a 84 15th ann ta for only 600. the man didnt know what he had. any ways it has been setting for 6 years in the weather seince i rescude it i have a new carb (holly) new wires and chaned the oil aswell as plugs. it idles ruff and the when i drive it it fells week. i tried to adjust the vavles but i am not to sure that i did it right. the treny has maybe 1 qurt to much fluid and i dont know how to drain it other than taking the pan off and thats just to much.....unless i have 2....hElP!

As for your engine problems, it could be ANYTHING...you mention the holley carb, are you still running the stock distributor? If so, you need to swap that out too or you are not getting any meaningful advance. Beyond that, it still could be anything.

As for the tranny, 1 quart over shouldn't kill you, actually i think mine is overfilled a quart from last time i had it apart. You could always try to siphon/pump it out through the dipstick tube.

I overfilled my trans by a quart once... luckily I noticed it before I drove it. I had a spare windshield-washer pump, and some old windsheild-washer hose. I hooked the pump up to the hose, and wired the pump to the battery. It sucked the trans fluid out, but it took a while to get a quart out of it. Either my hose was of too small a diameter, or the pump was dying.
