GM High TEch

How $hity is their magazine. Im really getting tired of reading hooked up LT1's and LS1's. Dont get me wrong i love those motors but last OCtober they said sometime soon they would put a procharge or vortech supercharger in their magmum TPI. Morons i cant believe they put a 1000mm throttle bodie on a 350. I dont even know why i continue to buy their magazines. I had enough of porting LT1's cylinder heads, catback system on a 6 cly. 96' camaro and turbo this, turbo that on grand nationals. This months issure what do we get a stupid suspension modification that ive seen in other magazines a billion times and a tranny rebuild and installing a $700.00 torque converter. I cant deal with them anymore, i think i ll stick with Car Craft or Chevy high performance, looks like GM high Tech lost one subscriber.

why don't you call or write them, you'd get more results than posting here, even if they did nothing you'd get as much as you would posting here.

While we are on the subject, I think I missed something in the Magnum TPI article. What stall speed did they select for their Vigilante? They do mention Jay Heath's 2800 stall in his 96 T/A on page 21, so do we assume they used the same stall speed for Magnum TPI? Maybe I am blind...

I did write once but got no response from them. I guess they just dont get it. They get this perfectly nice firebird and for the first mods they do is lower tire pressure, put ice on top of plennum,Homemade air filter. DOnt they get it, theres more thirdgen cars out there than LT1's and LS1's. Yes i know TPI's are a thing of the past, but they should at least try. Finally they put some mods on the 350 TPI firebird. INstalling TRick flow heads, fully ported, Accel intake manifold,Accel runners,Accel ram, and a freakin 1000cfm throttle bodie(58mm). Quarter mile time 13.6, whats their excuse, faulty fuel pump. There the biggest idiots, Im not saying im a genius at TPI's but its all common sense. Finally putting a new fuel pump,Level 10 tranny, vigalant torque converter, quarter mile time 13.1-13.2. Total price=$12,000. GM high tech, biggest idiots in the world. I said my peace. bye

I guess that's why the call it GM High (tech) Performance!

Anyway, their 3rd gen car is gonna fly if they ever get the fuel pressure figured out. Why that is posing such a problem for them I can't even imagine. Fuel systems are not rocket science. The car has no top end and the fuel pressure is not right. Hmmmmmm..... Doesn't take a genius to figure out that if they GET IT RIGHT the thing will finally start living up to it's potential.

I like their mag, personally, although I can not afford hardly any of the mods they do on my own cars I appreciate that they try to explain WHY exactly they do every mod and what they expect it to add to the car's performance, not just throwing a bunch of brand name parts at their rides.
