benefits of 3 angle valve job?

benefits of 3 angle valve job?

not to be ignorant, but can someone explain the benefits and/or purpose of a 3 angle valve job? heads are going to the shop next week, i hope, so might be something i want done while they're in there... thanks.

You will get better flow from the heads in the area of the valve seat with a 3 angle valve job. With a single angle valve job the valve will rest on a single angle. With the 3 angle the valve rests on the middle angle and there is an angle leading into and out of the intake port. That is why there is increased flow. 3 angle has become almost a standard nowadays. Almost all new cars have at least a 3 angle with indys taking the cake up in the 20's.
