removing the k&n's.........
I have to take emmision test on monday. I failed previosly by just a little. Im getting a minor tune-up. I heard if you take out your air filters for the test, this will dramatically lower your emmisions. Is this true? I would appreciate any help.

If removing your air filter gets you through emissions, then it would suggest your air filter is dirty. Other than that, someone is pulling your leg as an good air filter should have little or no effect on emissions.
Not running with an air filter is a great way to shorten your engine life though.

Unfortunately I have never heard this, but doesn't that seem strange to remove something for an emissions test that has the word, "FILTER" in it? I would say that is just a rumor.</font>
