ignition timing marker?

Hello.

Wonder about how i should read the ignition timing scale. Anyone have a picture, and a description?
My scale has no numbers on it, so i don`t know what is zero degrees. Looks like a sawblade....witout numbers....

The largest (deepest) notch in the timing tab is TDC. The next notch toward the right of the engine is -4°, then subsequent notches are in 2° increments.
