Insert valve
Install valve seal, caution, valve stem edges can be sharp, be careful, use a dab of oil and slowly install.
Install spring cup/locator
Install spring and place retainer on top
Compress springs and install locks
Slowly release the spring and ensure the lock sits correctly
Repeat 15 more times.

Its pretty much straight forward...

I remember when I was in high school when my dad told me to do that after installing everything. I didn't see the purpose of it at the time.....that is until I had a set of keepers that weren't on good!!

what about lapping compound ? also, don't you install the valve seals after you check the springs and everything. Does anyone have complete step by step to check it all and do it right? also what about shims, how do you check the heights?
