installing timing chain cover on roller cam w/camshaft button

i am assembling my 4bolt main pre-87 block and have ran into a snag....when i use the stock timing chain cover everything clears fine but when i try my summit alum. timing chain cover it will not clear the camshaft button....i posted this on another website and someone mentioned thrust washer but it worked fine with stock cover....please someone get back to me soon on this....thanks!
