I have an 86 Firebird with 5speed and 305 carbed, that needs alot of work.

I was thinking about buying a 4th gen should I... (see above)

What exactly does the car need ?

There were no 350's in '86, unless it was installed by the previous owner.

You're in a thirdgen forum, ppl might tell you to keep it ...

If you prefer the newer styling .. go for it ..

Id keep the 3rd gen.

I would look it over to see how bad it is. I'v seen some pretty bad cars thats been redone and they came out nice. If it's that bad get rid of it.
