broke off
I was taking the CTS sensor out and the freaken top broke off
so I got mad and put the vice grips on it and now the nut part is completly off and all I have left is about 1/3 inch of the treads sticking out. I put the vice on the treads and cant get a good bite to get it out. What do I do now???? 9 dollar part and she sits till I can get the old one out. I am thinking about dynomite

Could slot the remainder of the threaded portion and use a chisle or something similar to try and turn it, making sure to soak it for a bit in a penitrating lube before hand. Since its a pipe fitting those are tapered threads so theyre going to be in there pretty good. As a last resort you could always drill and tap the intake to 1/2 in. NPT threads and use a 3/8 to 1/2 in. fitting.

If it is in the intake, use a cripple torch (propane) to heat up the aluminum around the fitting (don't melt a hole in it), and use an E.Z. out. If that doesn't get it, then get a drill index and drill it out one size at a time untill you can possibly split what is left of the fitting with a chisle and peel it out of there with a needle nose pliers, then chase the threads with a tap.
We have to do this a lot at work because of the constant clean-up every night. Can't keep the water out of the machines or electrical cabinets. The acids and water will eat the peckerhead off a motor in 3-4 months.

Some sort of extractor might work. The fitting is 3/8 NPT but I dont know what the ID of the sensor housing is.
