I need some help

I have a new radiator, good coolant level, and my fans work fine. When im driving around town in 80* and hotter weather my car runs fine, right around 200-210*. But, I could be driving down the highway in the same weather and even cooler weather and my car will get very hot, like around 240*. Why is this? The only other things i can think of is that my thermostat is sticking or my water pump(fairly new) is bad. thanks for your help.

This may sound dumb, but If the problem only occurs when im on the highway (between 2250-2750 rpm) how can i tell if the hose i collapsing? Or what is a good way to test for this? thanks again

Yes, i do have a trans cooler, but i know im probably making a bit more heat anyway because my speedo cable broke and now my torque converter isnt locking up as it should because the VSS isnt working. could this be making my engine run about 30* hotter when it should be running cooler?

My camaro does about the same thing. It seems to heat up when I'm barely on the throttle, or just maintaning speed. My guess was that the carb was leaning out on me, or the cc q-jet was mucking up the timing on me. I can hear the fan kick on, but it's about 30 degrees hotter than normal. It hasn't overheated YET.
