codes 13 & 44

Can anyone help me out here. I got codes 13 & 44 flashing up on my 85 pontiac transam, 305 v8, which I know means oxygen sensor signal lean etc.

Does this mean I need to replace the oxygen sensor? Car has been running really lumpy lately?

Thanks.

Code 13 means ECM is not recieving a signal from the oxygen sensor, so it could have possibly become unplugged or the wire might have melted on the exhaust manifold.

Check it to see what's up. I'd change it out if it's overdue anyway.

I had a look at the harness. Everything checks out ok. Me thinks the sensor has given up.

Could be the sensor or it needs cleaned or it could be your motor is running lean. What is the fuel pressure like? Fuel filter? Injectors? Does the car run hotter than usual? Do the plugs look like it is running lean? Don't bet the farm until you check a few things.
