Summit guages? Who makes them???
Summit guages? Who makes them???
I'm looking at a guage set labeled as Summit guages (part number SUM-G2924 in the catalog). It's 2 1/6" gauges in oil pressure and water temperature forms. What I was wondering is who makes them for Summit and are they any good? They're only 18 bucks and they'll fit in the AutoMeter A-pillar pod I'm getting.

Remember you get what you pay for. I would go for some Autometer or VDO gauges. I've got the Phantom Autometers in my 85. Look at my web site to see them installed.

I'm well aware of that addage, but I also heard that Summit and Jeg's gauges are made by somebody else but sold by the respective catalogs at a cheaper price, just like how Crane makes Summit cams, but Summit sells them cheaper.

GilmourD, I have that gauge package; it's been in since '98, I say, go for it. I'm rather mad that now they added the 270 degree sweep ones; I have the "original" 90-degree sweep gauges which look like electrical ones. Oh well.
One day I'll get Autometer ones, but for now, these do the job nicely.
