how important isa custom prom?

how important isa custom prom?
i have a 91 350 tpi lots of mods,cam ignition,exaust heads,24lb injectors,afpr,hypertech chip but the car still runs like its stock would a custom prom help me? thanks for any help

especially being a speed density car. A MAF car will be more forgiving since it's actually measuring the incoming air to the engine. a speed density (MAP) car uses the vacuum signal from the engine to compute fuel and ignition maps. By changing the cam you totally changed the vacuum characteristics of the motor so you are probably way out of tune. contact someone like Car Pro, AS&M or Ed Wright and get a custom chip.
