There should already be a set of lower air deflectors on the front of the radiator support, comrade. There are two baffles to deflect air away from the sides of the radiator, two fillers on the bottom edge of the fascia to seal the front of th fascia to the wheel openings, and the center air deflector (air dam) that is often missing due to close encounters with parking curbs (or F-15s). Make sure you have all the necessary parts, and replace those that are missing.

Yes,
Mig29 you don't say what you drive, but the general answers are this.
Get an airdam (mounted to lower radiator support) that drops down at least 6 inches. Block off all other sides of radiator (sides & between the top support and hood) so that air cannot easily bypass the radiator core.
Next you can tilt the top of the radiator back towards the engine, but keep it sealed against the hood with some kind of gasket.

ok, it is a camaro 87, ex 2.8 (crap)ex 305 and finally a much better 350 4 barrel carb, 5 speed manual.
i'd like to thank you both for your help tabaris (camarad in russian). it turned out to be as vader said "missing deflectors" probably lost at the parking lot or few 30mm. rounds from an F-15 (mean machine)
i'll get the parts and thanks again
camaros are forever !!!

I'm working on picking up all the deflectors from a local salvage yard, and have installed only the one that goes around the hood latch and the air damn. My car seems to be running lots hotter than last summer! I'm going to try taking the panel around the latch off, or install the 2 side deflectors soon to see what helps.
I'm really disappointed, because it ran really cool last summer. Maybe I'll get a new stat while I'm at it. Could also be a good time to switch to dex-cool, although that will most likely happen when the "Monster Motor" goes in.
The point I'm trying to make is this though :
Maybe having just some of the deflectors is worse than none?!?!?! Anyone experience this sort of thing, please reply!!!!

Try lifting the plastic piece that is on top of the radiator & covers the space between it & the air conditioner condenser. I have noticed that debris tends to build up in that location (leaves, trash, etc).
