Hood light
Where is the sensor that turns the hood light on and off?
I have had a dead battery a couple of times now, and I think its because of the hood light (which had no light in it when I bought it).
While the hood is up, I just thought I would fix it, wherever it is.
Another post says that it is in the light itself. How does that work?

Which frequently fails, and leaves the light on at unexpected times, and causes the infamous mystery dead battery syndrome.
I leave mine unhooked except when I'm actually using it.... which is like both times I've needed it for as long as I've owned the car. One of my other cars used to have mystery dead battery, and it turned out to be the same thing, except it was the trunk light, which works the same way.

You could always put a toggle switch in the line to the battery so that it would not come on until you flipped the switch.....

But just more switches and other crap under my hood. MSD box, flex-a-lite fan controller, fuse box, hood light switch.
