How high can she go?

How high would you feel safe pushing a stock 81k-mile LB9 bottom end? I'm just trying to get everything worked out for my intake/head/cam/header/ECU swap and I'm going to change the stock shift points with a new governor weight.

How high can the pushrods go before bending? My buddy always tells me that I'll bend a pushrod if I go that high. If that's a concern, I'll pick up a new set of pushrods (hardened/chrome moly, etc.).

What do you mean 'pushing'? Do you mean HP or RPM? If you mean RPM, I wouldn't go past 5500 with stock parts.

Its kinda pointless to go that high with TPI anyway, since it quits at about 4500 (5000 if modified right).

oops...RPM

I'm not going to have the TPI setup anymore... LT1 intake with ported LT1 heads and a cam that's probably too big.

5500 though ya say? Hmm...

You cannot use LT1 heads on your 305. Stock bottom end should be good to 6k. Plenty of "built" 305's out there doing that everyday.

All that is needed is for the coolant ports to be sealed up..

6k sounds good to me
