New IROC owner with questions

I'm getting a code 24 and a code 34. Can a broken speedo cable, which is preventing the speedo from working, give a vss code? Also, do remanufactured MAF work as good as new ones on a stock engine? The car is a 1989 IROC 305 auto. Thanks
