Door won't stay shut - what do I fix?

Is this a problem with the pin? It seems like the door is missing a spring or something, the passenger side will stay open at intervals but the driver's side just swings shut. Anybody know? Thanks.

U ROCK,

Your topic line was a little confusing. I thought the door wouldn't stay shut. It sounds like you are saying it won't stay open. If that's the case, there is a cam plate and detent roller on the lower hinge of each door. A large spring maintains pressure on the cam plate. If the spring is broken or missing, the door will not stay open in its two detent positions.

Look at the lower hinge on the passenger door and compare to the driver door.

Thanks Vader! Assuming I have to replace that spring, do I need to remove the door to do so...I've been looking through my helm manual and it doesn't say anything specifically about a spring...
