Undercoating removal? Possible?

If a is undercoated, is there a way to get it all off? I want to get it all off and POR-15 the entire undercarriage.

The only method I've heard of is... a screwdriver or paint scraper. Have fun!

Undercoating should be outlawed on sports cars... my IROC unfortunately has it I have been able to scrape some of it off, it also helps to heat it up a bit with a propane torch....you just got to be careful what all you are heating up

Did you try a wire wheel on a drill? That's what I plan to do when my POR-15 time comes.

Propane torch and a putty knife is the best way. I still need to do that to my race car. I don't need the extra 40 pounds of undercoat.

Good luck getting it off but I am slapping on another coat. That is the only reason my car still has a floor in it. I love the stuff because all the cars rot so fats with the salt air and road salt.

Huh. The undercoating on my car dissolves quite nicely in gasoline.

There's also a commercial undercoating remover. I've seen it advertised once, but for the life of me I can't remember where, or even what it was called.

I've had some luck with an engine steamcleaner and the normal cleanser they have in there... Less volatile than gas, too, I bet!

Fastbroker: I found out about the "dissolves in gas" quite by accident, I assure you. My engine crossmember was undercoated, and everytime I mess with the AFPR (which is mounted about where the mechanical FP would be) it spills gas all over.

I don't think my car had a undercoating on it. What color is the coating and the texture of it.

naa I don't have it my car really does not need it down here in texas. they salt the roads once a melinia down here.
