what do these wires do? pics inside

do you guys know what these 2 plugs do? 1 is visible 1 isnt i know they plug into the thing against the firewall. 1 is a wide plug and one is a smaller one the smaller is the visible one. they have never been pluged in. in the 2 1/2 years i had the car.

information

1984 Z28 LG4

the oh so popular 69-80 350 block (had a feeling when i got the car the engine wasnt original so i got castings)
edelbrock 600cfm carb elec choke
holly contender intake

im thinking it has somthing to do with the computer controled carb originally equiped with the car but im not sure everything works fine and all im just wondering what they do

That bracket along the firewall should have held a BARO sensor and either a fan relay or throttle kicker relay. I don't know what the yellow wires might have been.

If you're no longer using the ECM (and have installed a mechanical/vacuum advance distributor as a resault) there is no need to connect a BARO sensor. I doubt the Edelbrock clone of the 4MV has a provision for a throttle kicker. If you are still using the stock distributor, you might want to replace it or get the ECM active so you have some timing advance.

Trace the wires, see where they go.
