someone has to know... 325 hp and 375 ft/lbs???

I want 325 hp and 375ft/lbs, what kind of TPI engine would be best suited for this. I will have a 3" Cat-back, hooker headers, cam, port and gasket-match the induction system, air foil and other minor stuff. What do you guys suggest I do? Which cam would be good for this, what other mods or what needs to be changed to get this. I will be upgrading from a 305 so I am looking for a 350 or 383. What about fastburn heads and what a Torquer II's like?
basically I am just looking for setups around this output or maybe more. The drive-train will be taken care of with a T-56. I am open for idea's except for, NO2, super or turbo charging and I want it to be TPI. Maybe it will be hard to do, I don't know, I am new to this. What are you guys running and what kind of output are you getting with that setup?

Hey I am currently running 300hp and 370ft. lbs of torque out of a GM crate motor. It was straight out of the box and goes like crazy. If you want let me know and I will find you the exact engine code.

My previous engine, with a ZZ4 cam, ported Corvette L98 heads, ported stock TPI intake, and SLP 1 5/8" headers put 280 HP and 380 TQ at the rear wheels on a dyno. If you do the math thats about 325 HP and 430 TQ at the flywheel. Sound good?

Im expecting my new engine to make over 300 HP at the wheels, and who knows on the torque. It just better run 12's!

Where did you get it? I would love to know the numbers on that. Thanks

Kevin91Z:
I saw you car and love it. The ZZ4 cam works with FI? I thought the ZZ4 was carbed. How much did it cost you to build?

My new engine made 317 HP and 418 TQ to the wheels.

For price I couldnt tell you, I got a lot of my parts used and my dad and I did the labor, as he is a mechanic. I'm still searching for 12's...

Peak numbers don't mean as much as where they occur.

Example, L98 - LS1, both make similar peak torque, but due to the head, and overall motor materials of the LS1 it creates that same peak at an additional 1400-1600 RPM higher, and they are how much faster than our cars?

Just thought you might want to keep that in mind when building your engine, not that I know how to build or modify one for racing, lol.

26 Thanks... just out of curiosity, why is it that you fully beleive I'm full of crap no matter how much theory, fact, or evidence I back what I say up with?

It really shoudln't be too hard for you to get 325 at the crank. In fact, you should be able to do it with the stock TPI, injectors, heads, and the cam too, although a cam could be a nice increase. Good luck.
