I was wondering what is the largest tire you can fit on the rear of trans am with a rear end out of a 95 Z28 is. It has disk brakes I don't know if that will make a difference. Other than a different rear end the rear is stock. I was wondering because my buddy has a set of slicks I wanted to buy and use. I would just try them on the car but I am in South Korea right now and the car is in Minnesota and the tires are in VA. So you see my dilemma. Any help would be appreciated.

With stock springs, correct wheel offset, and a properly centered axle, you can install up to 12" wide and 27" OD tires, or about 275/50-16 on the rear. The fronts will not have clearance for those tires, however.

Other similarly sized tires would be 275/45-17, 275/40-18, etc.

South Korea? I hope you took a jacket (both kinds). Headed back soon? If so, you might be looking for snow tires before hunting down those slicks.

Yeah I am heading back in the end of March next year. I hope the snow, salt and sand will be off the road so I can take the T/A out of storage. So I can fit 12 inch tires under my T/A in the rear with the 4th Gen rear end under it? here is a Pic of my T/A. I just figured out how to get a picture on the website. I couldn't get them small enough before.

What is the biggest tires anyone has put on with the rear end out of a 4th gen? What was the rim size and the offsets? Anyone?
