Wanting to upgrade my ignition

ok so i want to upgrade to either msd or accel for my ignition, the wires, cap/roto coil and box.

i'm leaned more towards msd products for their reputation.

but when i see all their stuff, i dont know which to choose, so my question is, which coils work best on our cars and what exactly does an ignition box do? i hear the 6AL is good.

The stock ignition is fine for what you have. I wouldnt bother messing with it.

To add to the above comment, the stock ignition is great up to around 400HP. Now, if you are having trouble with some items just replace then with AC Delco. Parts store crap is just that, crap. Even most aftermarket isn't as good as AC Delco electronics.

You can do all that with the stock ignition system. All you need is a programmer so you can start burning your own custom chips (proms).

Which is going to be easier especially on a near stock car, learning the art of chip burning or buying an aftermarket ignition setup?

Learn chip burning for sure. It will always be with you and you can experiment over and over again wit different variables. If you can't swing the price of a programmer ask a buddy to go in with you and split the cost.

If you buy an aftermarket ignition that's it, your done. I'll bet a paycheck you get more power from chip burning then with an aftermarket ignition system on a stock engine.

I agree 100%. An aftermarket ign is good only for the enhancement and whatnot of spark energy, for the most part. Chip tuning opens the doors to a whole new world of performance, which in the end, will be a far greater asset then a ign. box.
