Did GM ever use a auburn posi?
I was searching E-bay for a posi and someone is selling a OE takeoff auburn posi for a 7.5'' rear-end. Did that ever really exist? If it is real I may but it. Maybe the SS's and TA's got it?!

The 4th gen SS's and WS6's got it as an SLP option. I don't believe it was "standard" on either the SS or the WS6, but most of them got it anyways.

As Duron said it was an SLP option for 4th gen cars. Most SLP cars do not have it though since it was a $500 option. I think Auburn made some mass run units for GM back in the early LT1 era. They then switched over to the torsion units. I am sure someone will correct me on that.

I have a extra 28 spline rear-end for this swap. And I am getting 3.73s more than likely.
I had an slp posi along time ago...sold it.
Then I stockpiled parts over the summer. Had a panhard rod, springs, all the front end parts, torque arm bushing, slp posi, motive 3.73 gears, intall kit...all kinds of crap. Decided to sell the car...parts sold but the car didn't. So I got it painted and reinstalled the AC.
So this is gonna be my third shot at getting some better gears and a posi unit in this poor car.

That is the newer style one; it was stock in some of the LT1 cars, from about 94-97 or thereabouts. SLP used to sell them as take-outs, like they did the Torsens that they recently ran out of, from when they put upgraded ones in.

try these guys, they're really good to work with. I've been running their stuff for years.

I will have to call them and see how their prices are. I am trying to find a decent differential that will not break the bank to bad.
