Found one in the paper for cheap, says its a 350, former cop car. Just curious on engine specs and transmissions in these cars. If anyone knows.

DOn't know much. I do know, however, they are 350 TBi. They have the police injectors, FWIW.

Probably a 700r4 transmission.

Someone can probably elaborate better on it.

Mine is a 93. Had the 65 lb injectors. I was never able to pin down exact cam specs, so used a different cam. The block was a 2 bolt main. It also had a block heater installed in one of the freeze plug holes that blew out on an over-rev about 3 weeks ago. Fortunately it was an easy fix. Thats about all I know about them-

It is a regular LO5 with larger than stock injectors. There are two versions of injectors for the LO5. There are the standard ones (55# IIRC) and the cop car injectors at 65#. The PROM tunes are also slightly different. Basically it is 220hp and 300 or so tq. The TBI unit and intake are the same ones found on LO3's. They suck. In equaly suckiness they have large chamber swirl ports and a weak cam.

Dang dude, are you not a moderator on the TBI board? Is the actual TBI unit that bad? I am using a stock casting on a 350 with 65# injectors and getting 13.8's. Does that also suck?

?

Well although 13.8 does not suck by any means I bet you are pulling some vacuum at high RPM's. Most heads and cammed LO3's cannot be supported by the stock unit. I bet with more tuning and close inspection of your data logs you will find that you need a 2" unit. The fastest 350 TBI guys all run 2" units.

The engine is a LO5, 350 TBI that pushes out 190hp and 280ft lbs torque stock. The transmission is a regular 700R-4 with a 3.42 rear axle.
