1978 350 heads on my 1992 305

I know I would have to get new valve covers, but what about a new intake also? Would my stock exhaust manifolds bolt up to the heads? Would I would have to mill them down a bit to get the compression back up? I was thinking about getting a TBI Edelbrock intake would this work or would I want to go with a carb intake then buy a TBI adapter?

Just for starters, the center intake bolt angles are different. (not that big a deal, just buy a different manifold)

Then if the heads are not drilled for 7 ex. bolt holes on the pass side, the ex. manifold won't bolt up.

So it won't work OR it will work with an older carb intake
???

the intake part is easy, just buy an older style intake....yes.

The ex. side is where you are going to have a problem. (with stock manifolds)

Those heads are 76cc; so you'll end up with a compression ratio maybe less than 7:1. It's not realistic to attempt to mill them enough to lose 20cc of chamber volume.

Don't even bother unless you're running at least 12psi of boost.

Okay I have to have all of my smog equipment working. Is there any way I could buy some 350 heads from a 1987 or later 350, what size combustion chambers do those have? Will the Edelbrock TBI intake bolt up to those 1987 350 heads? Will my exhaust manifolds bolt up to those heads?

okay sorry to bother you all again
Now I can get 1989 350 chevy full size truck heads. What size combustion chambers do these heads have? Will my stock exhaust manifolds bolt up? Will my intake bolt up?
