Got offered insane amount for my motor with tpi, how hard would it be to go carbed?

A man I raced a while back (i don't even remember the car) saw my car at my job and got my phone number from an employee, he ask what kind of motor I had and I ask him if he had the internet and told him my cardomain ID, he called back in an hour and offered me $7500! He said he wants everything headers, injection supercharger and all.....I think I might do it, but how hard would it be to go from a TPI supercharged to a carbed 383 stroker? I was thinking either 383 or 400....

after all the stuff you posted about problems with your engine.. i'd take the money and run. Then build a better engine.

And I doubt you'll push the power that the supercharged 350 has with a N/A 383 and still pass smog. Or is smog not an issue?

not an issue at all.....I found a few 383 470hp strokers on ebay for around 4k with shipping...but would it be a pain in the *** to get all the gauges to work correctly again? I have installed engines and I'm sure I can do this, but I don't know sh## about wiring /sigh

The guages really dont have anything to do with the swap from TPI to carb, but its not going to be easy to wire everything back up if your giving him the harness. I wouldnt do it. Your setup is pretty sweet and it will be a pain in the *** to try to build another motor pushing out *** much power as the one you have. Also youll have to change the full pump and modify the throttle linkage to swap to carb. Sounds like to much of a hassle to end up with an engine with less power.

The gauges don't care what intake the motor has. They just plug into sending units. As long as the right sending unit is on the end of the wire, the gauge will work. And, the harness that has the sending unit wires, is completely totally altogether separate from the ECM harness; no interconnction whatsoever. The only gauge that has any connection, is the speedo in the later year-model cars.
