SS,

The non-adjsutable TPS used on later TPI engiens requires the use of the later ECM. The ECM "learns" the base position of the TPS when the ignition is turned on, and presumes a "zero" point. While an earlier TPS might work on a later ECM, a later (non-adjustable) TPS would be a nightmare on an earlier ECM.

Just get the correct TPS if you need a replacement and set is correctly - there should be no problem with that.

Uhm... the 90-92 TPS sensor is the exact same as the 85-89 one, I think... And it doesnt read zero on start-up, it reads whatever you set it to, .55-.65 is recommended. However, whatever value you set it at, the computer uses that for its starting point. The MAF computer is more sensitive to the TPS voltage on start-up.

the 85-90 are set at .54

.84-.95 ????? Way too high. My 92 Helms manual says .55-.65, like I said.
