Will the universal Griffin radiator that summit sells for 281 fit in my 89 camaro OK. Summit told me it was a direct replacement but I wanted to hear from some of you before I orderd it.

It's not a direct replacement. Mods to make it fit include:

A new upper support because the original isn't think enough to fit around the core.

Since the fans mount to the support, spacers or another way to mount them will be needed.

If you have a small 3/4" heater hose running to your radiator the griffin doesn't have provisions for it.

It doesn't have an automatic trans cooler.

The rubber stops in the bottom of the support need to be removed and cut for the hood to shut. Possible radiator to hood/airbox clearence problems solved by tipping the radiator back toward the motor.

It could fit, but it's not a 'drop in'

Here's a pic of my custom install. I fabbed up t-6 brakets for the fans/maf sensor and mount.

I bought a griffin radiator and it did not fit perfectly.it was a 19x31. The shroud wouldn't fit over it.I had too make a bracket for it and get an electric fan.

It's the dual 1" core.

Cools too good now, I don't have an air deflector and I have to get the 160 thermo out of it.

With the stocker it ran up into the 230's 235's in summer heat with the air deflecter mounted and the 160 thermo. Too hot IMO.
