hey all, been trying to solve a little ghost i've encountered. Car has been running great for some time now but as of yesterday after about 5-10 minutes of driving it will shut down and not restart until "later".

Today, i went out there and checked a bunch of wiring (MSD 6AL, adj. timing control, MSD coil/harness, shift light, etc) and found one wire that must have been sliced and was exposed. I told myself that should have nothing to do with temperature but you never know. It was MSD plug in harness that needed the repair.

Anyway, wishfully thinking i fired her right up....ran it around the neighborhood then around town a little. Ran awesome for about 15 minutes and as soon as i got in my driveway it died and would not restart.

I ran in the garage, grabbed my old stock coil and hooked it up....CAR FIRED RIGHT UP.....so i shut it off and hooked the MSD coil back up and the car started for a second then died. Hook up the stock coil again....no start. So i figure it isnt a coil issue and the MSD coil is good.

I am now looking at the control module or the 6AL box itself...whatcha think???? Any way to test the box without sending out??

I would look at the control module myself. Those things can make you crazy when they start acting up.

moduals have a funny feature built into them thats really a good thing. they overheat and when they do they shut themselves off to keep from destroying themselves. my advice.........remove the modual and the heat sink compond(yukky white stuff) and replace the white stuff with good heat sink compond first. do it before you buy anything. hopefully the yukky white stuff just broke down over time. is the motor efi? post back this is a very important question!
